NU 610 Family Nurse Practitioner III: Care of Adults II Credit, six hours. This course focuses on the theoretical and clinical foundation of advanced practice nursing management of health promotion, prevention, diagnosis and management of acute and chronic health care problems common to adult patients. Students utilize clinical practice guidelines to ensure safe evidence-based care. Interdisciplinary collaboration among health care providers is promoted. Extensive clinical experiences are provided in various acute and community-based settings to prepare the student to assume the role and professional responsibilities of the entry level family nurse practitioner (160 clinical hours).
