Admission to this graduate program will require a bachelor’s degree and either a Master’s or Doctoral degree. All of the courses will build upon the advanced educational instruction that students received in their previous graduate-level coursework with a special focus on psychiatric and mental healthcare. Students will integrate knowledge and evidence-based guidelines with clinical experiences to apply critical thinking in the context of advanced nursing frameworks. Students will submit written work with expectations appropriate for the graduate level. They will partipate with other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team to provide holistic care.
Eligibility Requirements
Submission of application through NursingCAS
Completion of MSN or DNP from a regionally accredited educational institution.
Current certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner.
Licensed as an advanced practice provider or designated as eligible for collaboration as an advanced practice provider in the state of Alabama.
Located in Mobile, AL OR willing to relocate/travel to Mobile, AL complete clinical requirements.
For regular admission, minimum GPA 3.0 overall or from previous graduate work is required.
Completion of a clear background check and absence of criminal conviction.
Submission of a health history and record of required immunizations.
Submission of current personal health insurance coverage.
Interview with the School of Nursing Graduate Committee.
