Programs of Study

University of Mobile’s academic programs are located within: 1) College of Arts and Sciences ; 2) College of Health Professions  ; 3) Alabama School of the Arts  ; 4) School of Business  ; and 5) School of Education  . Courses offered during the 2023-2024 academic years include those normally open to freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Courses numbered 100 to 199 are primarily for freshmen, 200 to 299 for sophomores, 300 to 399 for juniors and seniors, and 400 to 499 for seniors. Courses numbered 500 and 600 are reserved for graduate students, and 700 and 800 for doctoral students.

Before a student enrolls in any courses, he or she is to seek the advice of his or her academic advisor. Near the close of the school year, each freshman is expected to prepare a tentative course program for the remaining three years of studies at the University and to present it to the advisor for evaluation and counsel. At the end of the second year of study, or when sixty semester hours have been earned, the baccalaureate student will submit a request for a degree audit to be prepared for approval by the advisor and the dean of the appropriate college or school. (Please see the Academic Information  section of this catalog for more information about applying for a degree audit.) The program may be revised by the student at any time thereafter with the approval of the major advisor and the dean of the appropriate college or school.
