Notes:
*Students must apply for internship (TE 523 ) at least one academic period (semester) prior to doing the internship. The internship requirements include:
- A completed application;
- A 3.25 GPA on all graduate courses (with no grade less than a “C”);
- Approval by the teacher education council;
- Satisfactory completion of all deficiency courses and general studies courses;
- Satisfactory completion of approved field experiences;
- Passing scores on the appropriate Praxis II content knowledge test(s)* (taken in TE 525-within first 12 hours);
- Passing score on Praxis II Teaching Reading test* (taken in EE 516)
- edTPA - Educator Teacher Performance Assessment* (taken in TE 533).
* A test fee will be added as a Course Fee to billing.
Special Note:
Student teachers begin their assignments when local school systems start even though this start date may be prior to the start date of the university semester.
Hours to Major
42 hours are needed to graduate with an Alternative Master of Arts degree in Elementary Education.
