Fall Academic Period 2022
Monday, August 15-Thursday, December 8

Late Registration/Academic Advisement for Fall Academic Period 2022: August 8 - 11.
Fall Academic Period Ends with Final Grades to Registrar: December 12.

Fall Academic Period Notes:

1. Institutional Workshop:  August 8-11.
2. Holidays: Labor Day (September 5); Thanksgiving (November 21-25); University closed (November 23-25); Christmas (December 16, 19-23, & 26-30).
3. Fall Break (Classes not in session for -Term I):  October 5-7.
4. Registration for Spring academic period begins:  October 31.
5. ACT Residual TBA.
6. Evening students should consult the class schedule for class dates.
7. Evening students should consult the registrar’s office and business office concerning drop/add dates and withdrawal from classes.
8. Final exams for Term I only (December 5-8).

Days the University offices are closed: September 5, November 23-25, December 16; 19-23, & 26-30, 2022.

Added and/or Dropped Courses and Withdrawal from the University

Term I

• Courses dropped after August 26 will receive no refund of tuition. Courses added after August 26 may incur additional tuition and fees. See Business Office.
• Evening courses dropped after the 3rd class meeting will receive no refund of tuition.
• Day courses may be added with special permission before August 24 and evening courses may be added before the 2nd class meeting.
• Day courses may be added or changed to audit without permission before August 18 and evening courses may be changed to audit before the 2nd class meeting.
• Day courses may be dropped without the “F” penalty by November 1 and evening courses may be dropped without the “F” penalty before the 10th class meeting.

Terms II & III

• Courses dropped after the eighth day of the term no refund of tuition. 
• Courses may be added before the 2nd class meeting without permission.
• Courses may be changed to audit before the 2nd class meeting.
• Courses may be dropped without the “F” penalty before the 5th class meeting.

A withdrawal is processed when a student ceases attendance before the end of the academic period.

Spring Academic Period 2023
Monday, January 9 -Thursday, May 4

Late Registration/Academic Advisement for Spring Academic Period 2023: January 2-5.
Spring Academic Period Ends with Final Grades to Registrar: May 8. 

Spring Academic Period Notes:

1. Holidays: Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (January 16), UM Holiday’s (February 20 & 21) and Good Friday holiday (April 7).
2. Last day to apply for Spring Graduation: February 3.
3. Spring Break (March 6-10) (All Students).
4. ACT Residual TBA.
5. Registration for Summer & Fall 2023 academic period begins: March 27.
6. Graduation:  May 6
7. Evening students should consult the class schedule for class dates.
8. Evening students should consult the registrar’s office and business office concerning drop/add dates and withdrawal from classes.
9. Final Exams: May 1-4 for Term I only.

Summer Academic Period 2023

2. Classes are in session unless the University is closed.
3. ACT Residual TBA.
4. Evening students should consult the class schedule for class dates.
5. Evening students should consult the registrar’s office and business office concerning drop/add dates and withdrawal from classes.

Days the University offices are closed: May 29 and July 4, 2023.

Added and/or Dropped Courses and Withdrawal from the University

 Summer Term I (4 weeks)

• Courses dropped after May 10 will receive no refund of tuition.
• Courses may be added by May 10 without permission.
• Courses may be changed to audit by May 10.
• Courses may be dropped without the “F” penalty by May 19.

Summer Term II (4 weeks)

• Courses dropped after June 7 will receive no refund of tuition.
• Courses may be added by June 7 without permission.
• Courses may be changed to audit by June 7.
• Courses may be dropped without the “F” penalty by June 16.

Summer Term III (4 weeks)

• Courses dropped after July 6 will receive no refund of tuition.
• Courses may be added by July 6 without permission.
• Courses may be changed to audit by July 6.
• Courses may be dropped without the “F” penalty by July 14.

Summer Term IV (8 weeks)

• Courses dropped by the 8th calendar day will receive no tuition/fee refund.
• Courses may be added before the 2nd class meeting without permission.
• Courses may be changed to audit before the 2nd class meeting.
• Courses may be dropped without the “F” penalty before July 7.

Summer Term V (Full Term)

• Courses dropped by May 26 will receive no tuition refund.
• Courses may be added by May 12 without permission.
• Courses may be changed to audit by May 12.
• Courses may be dropped without the “F” penalty by June 29.

Summer Term VI (6 weeks)

• Courses dropped after the 2nd class meeting will receive no tuition refund.
• Courses may be added before the 2nd class meeting without permission.
• Courses may be changed to audit before the 2nd class meeting.
• Courses may be dropped without the “F” penalty before June 2.

Summer Term VII (6 weeks)

• Courses dropped after the 2nd class meeting will receive no tuition refund.
• Courses may be added before the 2nd class meeting without permission.
• Courses may be changed to audit before the 2nd class meeting.
• Courses may be dropped without the “F” penalty before July 14.
