Requirements (Please see NOTES section below)

*Notes:

  1. Consult with your College/School advisor for specific and/or additional requirements relating to general education courses.  For example, COM 101  is required for business, Christian ministries, and education majors and teacher certification students.  MA 110  is required for all majors in the School of Business.  Education majors and teacher certification students have very specific requirements, particularly regarding English, Mathematics, History, and Laboratory Sciences.
  2. FS 100 Freshman Seminar (1 semester hour) is required for freshmen only.
  3. Students earning a Bachelor of Arts degree must also take twelve semester hours of a foreign language.  See specific requirements in the World Languages section of the catalog.

Global Studies Concentration (Five courses from the following)

The Global Studies Concentration is designed to build on intercultural knowledge and competence, in order to provide training for students who anticipate social advocacy, human resources, global ministry, and other cross-cultural vocations.

Notes:

An intercultural studies major earns a Bachelor of Arts degree requiring twelve semester hours of foreign language  study. An intercultural studies major may meet the language requirement with world language study. A student who selects biblical language to meet the requirement may choose six hours of Hebrew and six of Greek. With the permission of the advisor, a student may take six hours of a world language and six of a biblical language to satisfy this requirement for the B.A. degree.

Intercultural studies majors often choose French, Spanish, or another field in which to earn a minor, which will provide them with additional marketplace skills for intercultural ministry and service.

See also the general requirements for Christian Ministries majors  and the grade scales above.
