Summer Academic Period 2016
Monday, May 16-Tuesday, August 9

Late Registration/Academic Advisement for Summer Academic Period 2016: Monday, May 16.
Summer Academic Period Ends with Final Grades to Registrar: August 10.

 Summer Academic Period Notes:

1. Holidays: Memorial Day (May 30), Independence Day (July 4).
2. Classes are in session unless the University is closed.
3. Registration June 3 and July 8.
4. ACT Residual July 16.
5. Students should consult the class schedule for class dates.
6. Students should consult the registrar’s office and business office concerning drop/add dates and withdrawal from classes.

Days the University offices are closed:  May 30 and July 4, 2016.

Added and/or Dropped Courses and Withdrawal from the University

Terms I, II, III

• Courses dropped after the 3rd class meeting will receive no refund of tuition.
• Courses may be added before the 4th class meeting without permission.
• Courses may be changed to audit before the 4th class meeting.
• Courses may be dropped without the “F” penalty before the 10th class meeting.

Terms IV and V

• Courses dropped after the 8th calendar day will incur a drop fee and no refund of tuition.
• Courses may be added before the 2nd class meeting without permission.
• Courses may be changed to audit before the 2nd class meeting.
• Courses may be dropped without the “F” penalty before the 5th class meeting.

 Terms VI

• Courses dropped after the 3rd class meeting will receive no refund of tuition.
• Courses may be added before the 2nd class meeting without permission.
• Courses may be changed to audit before the 2nd class meeting.
• Courses may be dropped without the “F” penalty before the 8th class meeting.

A withdrawal is processed when a student ceases attendance before the end of the academic period.

 Terms VII & VIII

• Courses dropped after the second class meeting will receive no tuition refund.

Fall Academic Period 2016
Monday, August 22-Friday, December 16

Late Registration/Academic Advisement for Fall Academic Period 2016: August 15 - 19.
Fall Academic Period Ends with Final Grades to Registrar: December 20.

Fall Academic Period Notes:

1. Institutional Workshop:  August 15-17.
2. Holidays: Labor Day (September 5); Thanksgiving (November 21-25-Term I, II & III; University closed 23-25).
3. Fall Break (Classes not in session for Term I):  October 5-7.
4. Last day to apply for Fall Graduation:  September 16.
5. Registration for Spring and Summer academic periods begins:  October 31.
6. ACT Residual November 5.
7. Evening students should consult the class schedule for class dates.
8. Evening students should consult the registrar’s office and business office concerning drop/add dates and withdrawal from classes.
9. Final Exams:  December 12-15 for Term I only.

• Day courses may be dropped without the “F” penalty before November 8 and evening courses may be dropped without the “F” penalty before the 10th class meeting.

Terms II & III

• Courses dropped after the eighth day of the term will incur a drop fee and no refund of tuition. 
• Courses may be added before the 2nd class meeting without permission.
• Courses may be changed to audit before the 2nd class meeting.
• Courses may be dropped without the “F” penalty before the 5th class meeting.

A withdrawal is processed when a student ceases attendance before the end of the academic period.

1. Holidays: Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (January 16), President’s Day (February 28) and Easter holiday (April 14).
2. Last day to apply for Spring Graduation: February 3.
3. Spring Break (March 13-17-Term I, II, & III).
4. ACT Residual March 18.
5. Registration for Fall academic period begins: March 27.
6. 50th Graduation: May 13.
7. Classes are in session unless the University is closed.
8. Evening students should consult the class schedule for class dates.
9. Evening students should consult the registrar’s office and business office concerning drop/add dates and withdrawal from classes.
10. Final Exams: May 5; May 8-10 for Term I only.
