Statement of Purpose
The Master of Music (M.M.) in Piano Performance is designed to train students to become professional pianists. This degree will prepare you to go directly into a professional pianist career.
The Master of Music (M.M.) in Vocal Performance is designed to train students to become professional singers. This degree will prepare you to go directly into a professional singing career, or to pursue graduate studies in voice.
The Master of Music (M.M.) in Music Education (Non-Certification) is designed for in-service music teachers seeking graduate training in the area of music education. This degree will prepare you to make specific application in a specifc teaching area, and to understand of research practices applicable to music education.
The Doctor of Musical Arts (D.M.A.) in Vocal Performance provides opportunities for students to develop their performance abilities while expanding their knowledge of music literature and vocal technique. This program is uniquely designed to prepare students for performance and teaching across multiple styles, including contemporary, musical theatre opera, and others.
