PH 312 Physics for Scientists and Engineers II Credit, four hours. A continuation to PH 311 . Topics include: waves, electric fields, Gauss’ law, electric potential, capacitance and dielectrics, current and resistance, D.C. circuits, magnetic fields, Faraday’s law, inductance, A.C. circuits, electromagnetic waves, light, geometric optics, interference, diffraction, quantum theory, atomic structure, wave properties of matter, the hydrogen atom, many-electron atoms, and nuclear structure and reactions. Four hours. Prerequisite(s): PH 311 , minimum grade C.
