Notes:

*Students must apply for internship (TE 523 ) at least one academic period (semester) prior to doing the internship. The internship requirements include:

A completed application;
A 3.00 GPA on all graduate courses (with no grade less than a “C”);
Approval by the teacher education council;
Satisfactory completion of all deficiency courses and general studies courses;
Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 205 hours of approved field experiences;
Passing scores on the Alabama Educator Certification Testing Program (AECTP) and the appropriate Praxis II Content Knowledge Test(s);
Passing score on PRAXIS II Teaching Reading Test and on the appropriate Principles of Learning and Teaching (PLT) test.

Student teachers: begin their assignments when local school systems start even though this start date may be prior to the start date of the university semester.
