TE 525 is a prerequisite for all courses listed below with the exception of TE 520.

• EE 540 Classroom Management
• TE 501 Advanced Educational Psychology
• TE 504 Introduction to Exceptional Children and Youth  OR TE 509 (if TE 304 completed at undergraduate level)
• TE 505 Computer-Based Technology
• TE 520 Evaluation and Research in Education (must complete within first 12 hours of coursework)
• TE 523 Internship * (See Notes below)
• TE 525 Curriculum and Teaching in the Elementary School (must complete within first 6 hours of coursework)
• TE 533 edTPA Professional Development Seminar  (Co-req. with TE 523)
• TE 597 Evaluation of Teaching and Learning

Teaching Field Courses (15 Sub-Total Hours)

TE 525 is a prerequisite for the courses listed below.

• EE 512 Teaching Mathematics in the Elementary School
• EE 513 Language Arts in the Elementary School
• EE 514 Applied Science for Early Childhood and Elementary Education
• EE 516 Diagnostic and Prescriptive Teaching
• EE 522 Developmental Reading

Notes:

*Students must apply for internship (TE 523 ) at least one academic period (semester) prior to doing the internship. The internship requirements include:

1. A completed application;
2. A 3.25 GPA on all graduate courses (with no grade less than a “C”);
3. Approval by the teacher education council;
4. Satisfactory completion of all deficiency courses and general studies courses;
5. Satisfactory completion of approved field experiences;
6. Passing scores on the Praxis Core Academic Skills test* (taken in TE 525-first semester) and the appropriate Praxis II content knowledge test(s)* (taken in TE 520-within first 12 hours);
7. Passing score on Praxis II Teaching Reading test* (taken in EE 522)
8. edTPA - Educator Teacher Performance Assessment* (taken in TE 533).

* A test fee will be added as a Course Fee to billing.
