MU 791 Career Preparation

Credits, two hours.
Designed for the singer who plans to teach in an academic or private studio setting, this course will focus on career preparation. Topics to be covered will included but not be limited to: creating a curriculum vitae and teaching philosophy, build a website and promotional materials, interview skill, masterclass skills, creating high quality teaching and performance samples, academic writing and presenting, and navigating an academic setting. Within the course, student will participate in mock interviews, practice job applications, and teaching masterclasses. Prerequisite or Corequisite: MU 591
