Fall Academic Period 2025
Monday, August 18-Thursday, December 11

Late Registration/Academic Advisement for Fall Academic Period 2025: August 11 - 14.
Fall Academic Period Ends with Final Grades to Registrar: December 15.

Fall Academic Period Notes:

1. Institutional Workshop:  August 11-14.
2. Holidays: Labor Day (September 1); Thanksgiving (November 24-27); University closed (November 26-28); Christmas (December 19, 22-26, & 29-31- January 2); New Year’s Day (January 1).
3. Fall Break (Classes not in session for -Term I):  October 8-10.
4. Registration for Spring academic period begins:  October 27.
5. ACT Residual TBA.
6. Evening students should consult the class schedule for class dates.
7. Evening students should consult the registrar’s office and business office concerning drop/add dates and withdrawal from classes.
8. Final exams for Term I only (December 8-11).

Days the University offices are closed: September 1, November 26-28, December 19, 22-26, & 29-31- January 2, 2025.

Added and/or Dropped Courses and Withdrawal from the University

Term I

• Courses dropped after August 25 will receive no refund of tuition. Courses added after August 25 may incur additional tuition and fees. See Business Office.
• Evening courses dropped after the 3rd class meeting will receive no refund of tuition.
• Day courses may be added with special permission before August 28 and evening courses may be added before the 2nd class meeting.
• Day courses may be added or changed to audit without permission before August 22 and evening courses may be changed to audit before the 2nd class meeting.
• Day courses may be dropped without the “F” penalty by November 4 and evening courses may be dropped without the “F” penalty before the 10th class meeting.

Terms II & III

• Courses dropped after the eighth day of the term no refund of tuition. 
• Courses may be added before the 2nd class meeting without permission.
• Courses may be changed to audit before the 2nd class meeting.
• Courses may be dropped without the “F” penalty before the 5th class meeting.

A withdrawal is processed when a student ceases attendance before the end of the academic period.

2025 Fall Academic Period Examination Schedule
December 8 - 11, 2025
Term I

Evening classes will give final examinations on the class night during exam week (December 8-11). 

Online classes will give final examinations during exam week (December 8-11) as scheduled by faculty.                                                                                                                

Faculty should follow the exam schedule UNLESS permission is granted by the Dean and the VPAA.  Students should expect to take exams when they are scheduled. 

If you see that you cannot, you may submit a Change to Examination Schedule Request to the Academic Affairs Office by October 24 for consideration.

   Final Grades due to Registrar’s Office by 2:00 p.m. December 15

Spring Academic Period 2026
Monday, January 12 -Thursday, May 7

Late Registration/Academic Advisement for Spring Academic Period 2026: January 5-8.
Spring Academic Period Ends with Final Grades to Registrar: May 11. 

Spring Academic Period Notes:

1. Holidays: Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (January 19), UM Holiday’s (February 16 & 17) and Good Friday holiday (April 3).
2. Last day to apply for Spring Graduation: February 27.
3. Spring Break (March 2-6) (All Students).
4. ACT Residual TBA.
5. Registration for Summer & Fall 2026 academic period begins: March 30.
6. Graduation:  May 9
7. Evening students should consult the class schedule for class dates.
8. Evening students should consult the registrar’s office and business office concerning drop/add dates and withdrawal from classes.
9. Final Exams: May 4-7 for Term I only.

Days the University offices are closed: January 19, February 16 & 17, and April 3, 2026.

• Courses dropped after May 8 will receive no refund of tuition.
• Courses may be added by May 16 without permission.
• Courses may be changed to audit by May 16.
• Courses may be dropped without the “F” penalty before May 22.

Summer Term II (4 weeks)

• Courses dropped after June 5 will receive no refund of tuition.
• Courses may be added by June 13 without permission.
• Courses may be changed to audit by June 13.
• Courses may be dropped without the “F” penalty before June 19.

Summer Term III (4 weeks)

• Courses dropped after July 3 will receive no refund of tuition.
• Courses may be added by July 11 without permission.
• Courses may be changed to audit by July 11.
• Courses may be dropped without the “F” penalty before July 17.

Summer Term IV (8 weeks)

• Courses dropped by the 8th calendar day will receive no tuition/fee refund.
• Courses may be added before the 2nd class meeting without permission.
• Courses may be changed to audit before the 2nd class meeting.
• Courses may be dropped without the “F” penalty before July 7.

Summer Term V (Full Term)

• Courses dropped after May 17 will receive no tuition refund.
• Courses may be added by May 16 without permission.
• Courses may be changed to audit by May 16.
• Courses may be dropped without the “F” penalty before June 26.

Summer Term VI (6 weeks)

• Courses dropped after the 2nd class meeting will receive no tuition refund.
• Courses may be added before the 2nd class meeting without permission.
• Courses may be changed to audit before the 2nd class meeting.
• Courses may be dropped without the “F” penalty before June 5.

Summer Term VII (6 weeks)

• Courses dropped after the 2nd class meeting will receive no tuition refund.
• Courses may be added before the 2nd class meeting without permission.
• Courses may be changed to audit before the 2nd class meeting.
• Courses may be dropped without the “F” penalty before July 24.

A withdrawal is processed when a student ceases attendance before the end of the academic period.
