Fall Academic Period 2021
Monday, August 16-Friday, December 9

Late Registration/Academic Advisement for Fall Academic Period 2021: August 9 - 12.
Fall Academic Period Ends with Final Grades to Registrar: December 13.

Fall Academic Period Notes:

1. Institutional Workshop:  August 9-11.
2. Holidays: Labor Day (September 6); Thanksgiving (November 22-26); University closed (November 24-26); Christmas (December 17, 20-24, & 27-31); New Year’s Day (January 1).
3. Fall Break (Classes not in session for -Term I):  October 6-8.
4. Registration for Spring academic periods begins:  October 25.
5. ACT Residual TBA.
6. Evening students should consult the class schedule for class dates.
7. Evening students should consult the registrar’s office and business office concerning drop/add dates and withdrawal from classes.
8. Final exams for Term I only (December 6-9).

Days the University offices are closed: September 6, November 24-26, December 17; 20-24, & 27-31, 2021, and January 1, 2022.

Added and/or Dropped Courses and Withdrawal from the University

Term I

• Courses dropped after August 27 will receive no refund of tuition. Courses added after August 27 may incur additional tuition and fees. See Business Office.
• Evening courses dropped after the 3rd class meeting will receive no refund of tuition.
• Day courses may be added with special permission before August 25 and evening courses may be added before the 2nd class meeting.
• Day courses may be added or changed to audit without permission before August 19 and evening courses may be changed to audit before the 2nd class meeting.
• Day courses may be dropped without the “F” penalty by November 2 and evening courses may be dropped without the “F” penalty before the 10th class meeting.

Terms II & III

• Courses dropped after the eighth day of the term no refund of tuition. 
• Courses may be added before the 2nd class meeting without permission.
• Courses may be changed to audit before the 2nd class meeting.
• Courses may be dropped without the “F” penalty before the 5th class meeting.

A withdrawal is processed when a student ceases attendance before the end of the academic period.

Spring Academic Period 2022
Monday, January 10 -Thursday, May 5

Late Registration/Academic Advisement for Spring Academic Period 2022: January 3-6.
Spring Academic Period Ends with Final Grades to Registrar: May 9. 

Spring Academic Period Notes:

1. Holidays: New Year’s Day (January 1), Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (January 17), UM Holiday’s (February 28 & March 1) and Good Friday holiday (April 15).
2. Last day to apply for Spring Graduation: February 4.
3. Spring Break (February 28, March 1-4) (All Students).
4. ACT Residual TBA.
5. Registration for Fall 2022 academic period begins: March 28.
6. Registration for Summer 2022 academic period begins:  April 11.
7. Graduation:  May 7
8. Evening students should consult the class schedule for class dates.
9. Evening students should consult the registrar’s office and business office concerning drop/add dates and withdrawal from classes.
10. Final Exams: May 2-5 for Term I only.

Summer Academic Period 2022

2. Classes are in session unless the University is closed.
3. ACT Residual TBA.
4. Evening students should consult the class schedule for class dates.
5. Evening students should consult the registrar’s office and business office concerning drop/add dates and withdrawal from classes.

Days the University offices are closed: May 30 and July 4, 2022.

Added and/or Dropped Courses and Withdrawal from the University

 Summer Term I (4 weeks)

• Courses dropped after May 11 will receive no refund of tuition.
• Courses may be added by May 11 without permission.
• Courses may be changed to audit by May 11.
• Courses may be dropped without the “F” penalty by May 20.

Summer Term II (4 weeks)

• Courses dropped after June 8 will receive no refund of tuition.
• Courses may be added by June 8 without permission.
• Courses may be changed to audit by June 8.
• Courses may be dropped without the “F” penalty by June 17.

Summer Term III (4 weeks)

• Courses dropped after July 7 will receive no refund of tuition.
• Courses may be added by July 7 without permission.
• Courses may be changed to audit by July 7.
• Courses may be dropped without the “F” penalty by July 15.

Summer Term IV (8 weeks)

• Courses dropped by the 8th calendar day will receive no tuition/fee refund.
• Courses may be added before the 2nd class meeting without permission.
• Courses may be changed to audit before the 2nd class meeting.
• Courses may be dropped without the “F” penalty before July 8.

Summer Term V (Full Term)

• Courses dropped by May 27 will receive no tuition refund.
• Courses may be added by May 13 without permission.
• Courses may be changed to audit by May 13.
• Courses may be dropped without the “F” penalty by June 30.

Summer Term VI (6 weeks)

• Courses dropped after the 2nd class meeting will receive no tuition refund.
• Courses may be added before the 2nd class meeting without permission.
• Courses may be changed to audit before the 2nd class meeting.
• Courses may be dropped without the “F” penalty before June 3.

Summer Term VII (6 weeks)

• Courses dropped after the 2nd class meeting will receive no tuition refund.
• Courses may be added before the 2nd class meeting without permission.
• Courses may be changed to audit before the 2nd class meeting.
• Courses may be dropped without the “F” penalty before July 15.
